Rich Mauti Tennis Classic At Stone Creek

The Coin Trader Tent at The Rich Mauti Tennis Classic from L to R Sal Williams, Vic Del Giorno, & Craig Durrwachter

It isn’t often on this blog we are able to bring out some of the good things in life. This past weekend Coin Trader Inc. participated in one of the good things in life, the Rich Mauti Tennis Classic At Stone Creek. Rich spent 8 years int he NFL between the New Orleans Saints & the Washington Redskins returning kickoffs on special teams.

In October of 1978, Rich learned that his father had been diagnosed with lung cancer. Rich’s father lost the fight with cancer on November 16, 1979. Rich continued to fight cancer first by donating $1 for every yard he gained on kickoff returns. This was matched by fans and businesses donating hundreds of thousands of dollars during his eight year career.

Rich also went on to start the Tennis Classic to raise money annually for cancer research. This takes place the second weekend of April each year, raising awareness and much needed funds for research.  CTI set up a booth and had the opportunity to mingle with players and donate to the charity auction. The weather was great for the weekend sunny and mid 80’s with minimal humidity.

The total funds raised at this years event have not been released yet but over $20,000 were raised the first 2 nights of the 4 day event. This is a great event and a time to give to those in need & cancer research. If you would like an opportunity to donate to the Rich Mauti Cancer Fund check out the site here: Rich Mauti Cancer Fund Donations.
